A Time to Give is one of the numerous ways Bailey’s Fine Jewelry gives back to the community. The Bailey family came up with this innovative program as a way to provide watch battery replacements for their patrons and support the community at the same time.
Patrons can visit the following Bailey’s Fine Jewelry store locations: Raleigh’s Cameron Village and Crabtree Valley Mall, Cary’s Fenton and receive a free replacement watch battery. Bailey’s Fine Jewelry absorbs most of the cost of replacement batteries and service time, which typically range anywhere from $10 to $15 per watch, and asks instead for a charitable donation. Each store selects a non-profit organization to which donations are directed on a month-by-month basis. Over the years Bailey’s Fine Jewelry has observed patrons donating anywhere from $1 to $200 to the A Time to Give program in exchange for their new watch battery.
Since its inception in 2008, this program has donated more than $950,000 to the communities that Bailey’s Fine Jewelry serves.
The Wide Open Charitable Foundation will be collecting new, unwrapped toys, games and crafts for the pediatric patients at UNC Children's Hospital and surrounding UNC clinics.
These items will be collected during the holidays and donated after the first of the new year. Why? Historically, hospitals receive some of their largest donation inventories of the whole year during the month of December. After the holidays, donations drop and needs increase. We collect during December and donate in January! These donations will benefit patient care programs, birthday boxes and support patients, their siblings and families during hospital stays.
We are fortunate to have Lundy Management Group join us as our presenting sponsor for the third consecutive year! Together, we are hoping to drop off boxes at 50 local businesses and we would love for you to join us!
If you would like to host a toy box for the month of December, please email WideOpenCF@gmail.com and we will provide you with everything you need.
